How
do I register new U.S. domain names?
OnTimeHost has a partnership with many Register to register U.S. domain
names for our clients. We can register new domain names with many Register
for $19.95 for a 1 year registration. This is a $15.00 savings over Network
Solutions. that Register is accredited by ICANN as an official registrar
of the .com, .net, and .org Top Level Domain names (TLD's). For more information
about this, please see our Domain Registration page.
To use this service, indicate on your order form that you would like
us to register your new domain name where requested. The domain name registration
will be submitted to Bulk Register upon receipt of payment for the registration
fees.
If you do not prefer to do this, you can also register your domain name
with Network Solutions or other registar using our Domain Name Server information:

How
can I register non U.S. domain names (.uk, .se, .ca, etc)?
OnTimeHost requires non U.S. domain registration to be completed by
the owner of the domain. Please contact our
technical support staff for information that you will need when registering.

When
my domain name is registered, who owns the domain name?
You do. When we register your domain name, we will put you as the administrative
and billing contact. Whenever you want to make modifications with your
domain name, the administrative or billing contact is always contacted
first. Since OnTimeHost registers your domain name, we will remain as the
technical contact. If for any reason you do not want us as the technical
contact, you will need to register or transfer your account with your registrar.

How
long does it take for the world to access my domain name?
We, of course, will setup your domain name on our servers within 24
hours. While setting up your site, we will also work to register or transfer
your domain name. It takes 24-48 hours to complete new domain name registrations
once processed. However after this time period, it truly depends on ALL
networks and ISPs of the world to update their servers and lookup your
new domain name. Some popular dial-up ISPs (i.e. Earthlink, Slip.Net, Sprynet,
Grid.Net) take less than 6 hours to update their servers, while others
will take more than 3 days. So if you are still using a dial-up connection
to the Internet, make sure you have a reliable ISP that promply updates
its DNS servers, so you can access yourdomain.com right away.

What
can I expect if I am transferring a domain name to OnTimeHost?
If you registered your domain name with Network Solutions, OnTimeHost
will handle your transfer. OnTimeHost will send a modification template
to Network Solutions, and they will in turn send confirmation of the request
via email to the administrative, and technical contact of the domain name
involved. Only one person must agree to the email and reply-back to Network
Solutions for the transfer to successfully go through.
If you registered your domain name with a registrar other than Network
Solutions, we may or may not be able to make the transfer for you. We will
contact you to let you know what steps need to be taken.

What
should I do if I do not receive confirmation from Network Solutions regarding
my domain transfer request?
If you or the administrative contact for your domain does not receive
confirmation from Network Solutions in 1-2 days after your transfer request
you may need to provide Network Solutions with additional information.
Here's why - when transferring an existing domain it is very important
that you have access to the administrative contact email that Network Solutions
has on file for your domain. If you do not have access to this administrative
contact email you will need to send a fax to Network Solutions to confirm
the changes to your domain. Here are the steps to do this:
-
Contact OnTimeHost Support to obtain a NIC tracking
number from Network Solutions for your transfer.
-
Go to Network Solutions' website to generate a Letter
of Authorization to fax to Network Solutions using the NIC tracking
number provided.
-
Print out and fax the Letter of Authorization to Network Solutions - (703)
742-9552. If this domain is registered to an organization, print this letter
on company letterhead.
-
If this domain is registered to an individual, include a copy of a valid
driver's license for the owner of the domain name.
-
Make sure to sign the letter.
For other changes inlcuding transfer of the domain name to another party
or organization, please refer to the instructions outlined on the Network
Solutions Make Changes Section.
